Carpe Blogiem: Adventures Wanted?

So, I'm thinking about putting out adventures for ‪#‎GURPS‬ on my Patreon page. I'd probably use specific lines like Dungeon Fantasy, Monster Hunters, or Action; but I'd do general ones too. Say, a new adventure once every three or four months for Patrons at a specific pay level. Would folks be interested in that? I hear often that GURPS doesn't have enough adventures (and that's true), but I could take this avenue and give folks something they seem to want. The material would be entirely unofficial...but it'd be written by a experienced GURPS author.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks for reading.

  1. Go with the one-page dungeon format for DF, but break it so you don't count the stat blocks against the page. We're talking about GURPS, after all. (It's what I did for the dungeons I put up.) For Action, go with the Savage Worlds one-sheet format; stats aren't as big a deal. Monster Hunters, I dunno since I don't have the line. I'd guess a hybrid of the first two approaches.

    1. I have no clue what you are saying. Can you expand on that a bit.

    2. They're formats for adventures that keep things short and sweet. The one page dungeon is a contest that runs every year, wherein a whole adventure is on a single page. (http://www.onepagedungeon.info/) Savage Worlds has an akin format, the one sheet adventure. It covers both sides of a sheet of paper, but the concept is the same: keep it simple, stupid. 3. That is WAY too short for even the hint of a adventure designed for GURPS. There's simply too much information that is needed. A adventure seed maybe, but not what I have in mind. A full-on, mapped, dungeon with notes on each room and any creatures or the like that's within along with new treasures that are relevant.

    4. Ah. Well, I did use that format and wrote a few adventures myself (https://sites.google.com/site/gurpsmiscellany/) so I did find the one-page dungeon good for DF. But since you're going long-form, would you consider some kind of designer's notes in-line? These would in part be teaching tools anyways, and I find the idea of having the tools to make an adventure fast (rapid adventure design, to take a phrase from the software world) handier than the finished adventure itself, and anyone running an adventure should want to adapt the adventure to his own world. Getting the notes would help a hacker.

    5. That's not actually a bad idea. Hmmm. Thanks. I'll ponder more.

  2. Would you offer them for flat rate instead of monthly Patreon rates?

    1. I don't know if I can go to a flat rate, I'll have to check. The reason being is that my Patreon supports my blog...which happens to be about GURPS. Should I start releasing just GURPS adventures...however unofficial I might run into trouble and it all gets shut down. I'll look into it though.

  3. I understand, the payments support your blog maintenance and the pdfs are given out to a small list of friends at no extra cost...I just have trouble with fixed date payments,

    1. Understood. Again, I intend to look into it, but I think the loophole I'm currently exploiting will not accommodate it. :-(
