Previously . . .

The last time we came around, the group has managed to take down Soul Cage and his police officer accomplice. The group decides that there’s probably not much else that they could do other than go back to the streets and patrol the city some more. Thanatos being his normal bombastic self, introducing the team to most everyone that they meet well into the evening hours.

Walking by a bank, most of the team notices a black dress shoe on the ground. Thanatos starts poking it with his cane and investigating it, finding some blood on the shoe. Marduk asks to see it and while investigating they look up at the bank which has a full bank of glass windows up front. Thanatos casually walks into the bank, finding a body to the left that looks like a security guard that’s currently in the process of dying through the crushing of internal organs. No one else seems to be around since it’s after hours, but they can hear someone in the back towards the vault area.

Taking a quick bit of time, Thanatos stunts a healing transfusion onto the guard, the chest basically rebuilds itself. He determines that there’s something superpowered in the back there that’s resisting his perception. Thanatos suggests that they call someone, Marduk sending out a signal to alert the police, but they weren’t quiet trying to do so and someone wanders out of the vault area. . . on the ceiling. Thanatos tries to convince them to come down while instead gravity reversing itself and Thanatos and Amar getting dragged upwards while Nyx in his shadow form clings to the floor and Marduk floating quietly. The suspect isn’t happy with this result.

Thanatos tries to convince the man give it up, not happy the suspect proceeds to crush Thanatos with a Gravity bomb, blood spouting from him like a fountain. Trying to fight back, Thanatos’s leeching ability isn’t working too well, possibly due to blood loss while Amar leaps out of the hole he created which is quickly filled with the security guard that also fell upwards.

Thanatos pokes at him twice with his cane, managing to pop the perp twice in the chest, though the man’s gravity powers breaks the wooden portion of the cane and causing his sword to glow. A quick second later and Thanatos’s internal organs pop out of several orifices as he collapses to the ceiling. Marduk attempts to stun the man on the ceiling with his taser. Nyx, taking advantage of the fact that the perp on top of a drop ceiling, warps onto the other side of the ceiling panel and reaches out to cause a fear of the darkness in the perp while Amar gives him a hug.

With Thanatos still down, the perp attempts to pop Amar’s internal organs with the same gravity bomb that took out Thanatos, to no avail as Amar just holds on even tighter. Unable to take much more trouble, Marduk just stuns the man via a high powered lightning bolt. With the gravity super down. Nyx warps the security guard back down to the ground safely. It doesn’t take long for Thanatos to put himself back together while Marduk finally goes outside and calls the police. In the meantime, Thanatos gives the perp a once over as he treats the man’s heart attack, finding a tattoo that marks him as a Tong. The police come along eventually, with an ambulance.

Aftermath

They find a cell phone on him that Nyx breaks into quickly and determines that there’s only several numbers in the sent calls, one number three times on received call. They also find an authentic white jade necklace on the perp was wearing. Nyx judges that it’s worth at least $2,000 and tries to weigh the cost of sticking it in his pocket. Only a couple seconds of choice and Thanatos telling him it’s important evidence that the necklace disappears with a quick sleight of hand from Nyx. Asking where the necklace went, Nyx insists that he doesn’t have it. Shaking their heads, they move on to speak with the police officers asking them to trace the numbers they found in the phone, to great joy from the officers. It’s going to take a couple hours before they can do so, so the group head back towards their HQ, a good day of patrolling done.

After Action Report (GM)

A short game where I introduced a plot element and let the heroes be heroes. Sometimes its the simple things like stopping a bank robbery that help cement the idea that the PC is a superhero instead of just a super.

Other Notes

Short game due to a mirgraine on my part. ~2 hours.

Soundtrack

“I Fought the Law” by the Clash (Opening song)
“Gravity” by John Mayer
“Viva La Vida” by Coldplay (Closing Song)
