Previously . . .
They’ve managed their way through to a strangely dark place with a broken-down bridge, though they have lost JJ in the darkness along the way. They have glows emitting from their bodies, with Tabitha and Harlowe having the most of glow. There’s a strange mildew-y scent in the air with a hint of burnt wax that’s rather bothersome. It’s so quiet that they can actually hear their hearts beat. As they move over the bridge, they see it’s broken in the middle with a cliff that just drops down into the darkness, impossible to see the bottom. The bridge, though, is made from stone that Benjamin manipulates in such a way to get them across the chasm.
Dancing in the Dark

The Bleed
Sunday October 30th, 2005, 1000 hours (time standing still)
They’re able to make out the shadows of several, familiar looking figures. Inverted images of themselves, though dressed quite a bit more appropriately for their surroundings than the beachwear that most had on. Each step forwards, the shadow moves forward, each use of power is mirrored by those in front of them and they seem protective of the stairways into the structure they’re guarding. Fiona tries to communicate with them, asking if they’ve seen Lynn. They reply as Legion, saying they’ve seen her and then gesture behind them when asking where they’ve seen her. They don’t respond to Fiona’s jokes when she makes them.
Walking around the precipice, the air around the building behind them seems fuzzy with the building made of stone in classical Greek columns, the figures all turning to watch Fiona. As soon as she touches the wall, the figures move right to Fiona leaving the stairs open. It’s a solid structure that she can’t cause to collapse by just carving out bricks. Fiona seems to suggest that it’s time for the group to run in which Benjamin and Harvey definitely does as the figures surround Fiona fast. Fiona starts attempting a dance off to distract them before scaling the wall behind her, baffling them for a moment while she makes her escape into the same portal at the middle of the structure.
Dark Intentions

Amon’s Mindscape
Sunday October 30th, 2005, 1000 hours (time standing still)
They find themselves at the foot of stairs at the top of a half-buried shrine with a large dark figure dancing with Lynn along with a figure chained to one of the pillars that seems like he’s been eaten on. A non-descript human with sandy-blonde hair, blue eyes, and scars running up and down his body with slightly pointed ears that looks over at the group and lets out a sigh. The many teethed figure looks at them and opens his mouth where a voice comes out like a horrible mockery of ventriloquism that’s whispering directly in their ears.
Fiona starts off by mocking him, only for him to welcome them to his home. Asking if they want to fight or just give in right then and there. Fiona is all ready to fight while Harvey is pleading for Lynn to get away from the creature while she remains dazed at his feet.
Harlowe gets into psychic contact with Chessur the Catbirb in the real world, telling him to get someone to start playing the harmonica, hoping that something will happen if it doesn’t just alert everyone. Fiona splashes him with water jet made from snow, striking him while Benjamin throws a stone missile only for Amon to get out of the way. Harvey fires his plasma launcher to go off right behind Amon who dances out of the way. Tabitha finally manages to conjure a bow while Carol uses her pyrokinesis on Amon, hurting him as he catches on fire.
However it only takes a moment for Amon to take over Carol’s pyrokinesis and turns it on Carol instead. Harlowe doesn’t have the chance to be concerned with Carol as he makes a decision, that someone as injured as the figure there shouldn’t be chained up unless there’s a way for him to be a danger to Amon and runs forwards, managing to sever at least one of the chains. Benjamin moves and launches another stone missile at Amon who grabs the rock and throws it right back, now flaming, at Benjamin who interposes a stone between them. Fiona turns and washes Burn off from the flame and knocks Carol back onto her butt. Harvey, once again annoyed at the time to recharge it, decides to overload it instead, in about two seconds. Tabitha, meanwhile, fires an arrow straight into Amon’s face dealing real damage as Carol catches fire again.
Amon looks at Fiona and tells her to die only for it to reflect back upon him. Harlowe yells at Benjamin to pull Lynn’s body away from Amon using his Geokinesis as he hacks at the last chain holding the man prisoner. Benjamin follows Harlowe’s command while Fiona hits Amon with another water burst, knocking Amon back. Harvey runs towards Amon, holding the launcher ready to throw as Tabitha puts an arrow into Amon’s face as Carol tries to regain control.
The world starts the shake as a certain note reverberates throughout everyone’s head as Amon breaks free from his stunned state as Harlowe asks if the bystander can run only for him to respond that he can fly as he floats off of the ground, satisfied he looks towards Carol and uses one of his force constructs to throw snow onto Carol only for the fire to burn hotter. Benjamin throws a stone at Amon to low effect as Fiona hits him with another water jet. Harvey charges into Amon shoving the overloading launcher into his arms as he goes over the edge.
There’s a flash of light as they come back to in the basement of the antique shop.
Lynn is screaming with blood coming from several facial orifices while Carol is still on fire, Hardison having been trying to put her out for several seconds. Fiona manages to help get her put out, her skin is an irritated red with burns. The device, working on Lynn, is making the around around her wobble almost like jello. She eventually ceases to scream a couple moments later, though she’s still breathing. Fiona moves to give Lynn a hug, she’s semi-catatonic as she’s not quite there. Hardison is interested in the fact that it ended up working while Harvey is happy that they managed to get Amon to explode.
Aftermath
Most of the group is worried about Lynn, making sure that she’s alright. The air starts to shimmer lightly as a man with several bites around his body shows up in the basement. Fiona asks who they are, getting the answer of Deucalion. He stops floating for a moment to sit down and breathe. Fiona keeps asking him questions only for Deucalion to ask for something to eat. Hardison offers several types of junk food.
Fiona keeps asking what he was doing in Lynn’s head only for him to finally deny he was, that they were in Amon’s Realm. The last thing that he remember is about sixty-some years ago, back in 1942 but can’t remember that much of that time either. He’s very badly scarred by any manner of things that one can think of, emaciated and possibly handsome if he was back in real shape. Hardison calls out for some food and his attendant brings junk as Deucalion keeps eating and drinking. Benjamin asks if Deucalion was his birthname only to be told it was the one he was given, Fiona keeps probing harder only for him to say it’s the only name he gave them and asks for a bed.
Leaving Deucalion alone for now, Fiona keeps next to Lynn who eventually wakes up and holds Fiona as she cries. Once everyone calms down, Steve drives them back to their dorms leaving Deucalion with Hardison. Speaking with Lynn and Lisa, they tell the group that the connection with Amon is gone, there’s nothing they can detect leading back to him.
After Action Report (GM)
After sooooo many weeks of not playing (almost 5 weeks!) we finally got back to it, put an cork in the end of the arc, and then moved on. It wasn’t anything fancy. The PCs avoided one of the two possible combats this session, did some really out of the box thinking for the fight with Amon, and then opted for the B-plot too (a prisoner of Amon). My players asked me if he was dead. I replied with “This is straight out of a comic book – did you see a body?” So the kyberic entity might show back up later at some point. Who knows. It wasn’t as long as I wanted – we stopped early because of a player needing to head out early and we were down a player, but it was still very fun.
