The group are discussing what they need to at the moment while flying on the Vagabond. They may just need to get the people from the jail back to the Returner’s base but what would happen after that? Would they finger the group as the ones that beat them and called the cops? It’s likely that they may need to speak with them, but at the least they’re going to be asleep for the forseeable future with the IVs full of sedatives that Hot Lips confirms. The general plan has ended up being to apologize when the time comes, claim they weren’t aware of what was happening at the time. Nero is curious why they aren’t just waking the four up right now and apologizing at them instead.
Cooky, who has been flying the plane in the meantime, alerts them that there’s something coming in on the radar quite fast. Hux takes over the controls while Nero goes to protect the pringles. Something impacts the ground below them on an island they’re flying over. Diverting their flightpath to go check out the impact. Landing as close to the crater as possible by utilizing the floatation option on the plane. Upon landing, Nero decides that best way to go is to turn into a whale and move them ashore.

From the impact crater, there’s a large amount of flames of near impossible colours just cascading out of it. It’s not even doing things that light should do, flowing like water. Whatever is in there is something that even feels weird to Nero.
A new person opens their eyes, they’re no longer in freefall and instead on the ground in their suit. They can remember a few things, putting together their suit and remember doing things but not expressly specifics. They can remember things like learning to ride a bike but not who taught them. Looking around they see the light emanating from them and a word comes to mind: Kyberic. A soft tinking occurs for a moment and looking up reveals a sand crab tapping at a their helmet. Setting it aside, they find themselves within a rather deep crater and start to climb out. The sandy walls aren’t too helpful there, but they came in hot enough that part of the walls have melted slightly into glass.
A figure pops over the edge of the crater startling Hux into telling the others to shoot it, Apex to tell them not to shoot, and Nero to grow several more limbs from his whale body and hisses. The group sees what looks like an orange spacesuit from the 70s, a Russian cosmonaut. Boombox attempts to communicate in Russian while Hux checks to see if it’s irradiating them. They respond in Russian much to Hux’s displeasure. They say they feel fine after the fall and offers to speak English.
Questions ensue, where the figure claims to be a true blooded Soviet. They’re not sure how they got there, they remember falling and making a suit and that the colours are new to them as well. They introduce themselves to the Russian Suit who is confused by how they look and calls them American capitalists. There’s some discussion about whether to inform them of the fall of the Soviet Union to little avail. It’s hard for Boombox to tell what’s inside the suit and asks if they’re a man or woman only for them to say they cannot remember, they only remember a part of their name from the suit where there’s an S, a period, and then the letters OR from the middle of a moderately obscured last name. Calling them Soar, or, in Nero’s case Sdotor. They’re asked what years they think it is, only for Soar to come back saying that it was 1968 causing a few of them to laugh, somewhat nervously.
Hux’s sensors says there’s no real radiation coming off of Soar, but there’s definitely some energy there as he tries to break the news to them. That they are also on the other side of world when Nero asks if it’s known if normal humans can fall from orbit. Hux suggests breaking the news gently when Nero volunteers. Holding out two more hands, Nero tells Soar they’ve been out of the loop for over fifty years and Boombox tells them welcome back. They note that the suit wasn’t originally meant for that sort of fall, but that it’s instead rather bespoke, like someone added to it afterwards. Hux whispers to the rest of the group that it’s probably aliens. Boombox shakes his head and says that they may want to avoid saying that the Soviet Union doesn’t exist. Nero asks, out loud, why they’re withholding information.
It slips that the Soviet Union doesn’t exist anymore, at least for a good few decades now. Soar takes it fairly well and asks if it at least outlasted the United States. Things aren’t looking too up for Soar as they’re warned about the several folks unconscious on their plane and eventually why they’re unconscious. They really wished they didn’t drop into such a disreputable group as their options are explained as either get on the plane or learn if they can swim.
Soar eventually decides that their only option is to go with the group for now. As they ride the Nero whale to the plane, they explain a few things of what has happened over the past few decades as Boombox attempts to play soothing Russian folk songs, and Boney M’s Rasputin.

On the plane, Hux tries to find Soar some quick videos online to explain what has happened during their absence as well, trying to introduce a time traveler to the future. Soar is quite amazed by the modern technology.
They offer Soar the decontamination shower to clean up and clean clothing to wear. Soar goes into the shower, takes off the helmet and discovers that they’re lacking a head despite still being able to see. They’re not freaking out as much as they could be as they start to realize that they don’t even have a body, they’re some kind of insubstantial being as they avoid getting the suit too wet but still scrubs it down.
Nero suggests that Hux check out online to see if there was a lost Russian Cosmonaut, finding something in the unofficial records where there’s a secret flight that occurred in the late 1960s with a radical new engine design. He alerts the rest of the team what he’s found and then looks deeper into the engine design to see if there was something weird that has happened that would cause a person to potentially travel through time.
Aftermath
The plane arrives back in Brazil, the unwitting people they’ve saved are still asleep and they start to discuss what to do with Soar. They can’t just turn them out, they’ve got problems like identification and otherwise. Angel Cakes wakes up in the middle of their discussion much to Nero’s delight who feels some kinship with her.
After Action Report (GM)
Back after so long…and it was pretty good. The players decided to wait for another player to come back so we didn’t play for about a month then there was the issues before that…ach. Ah well. We had fun, the new player (Annabelle) was just tremendous. She had been working on her character accent, had a voice changer to make it sound like her voice was coming from the suit. It was great. We all had a lot of fun. I look forward to the next session.
