Previously . . .
The group, at the school, investigates everything, including Lynn’s journal where she’s rapidly changed over the past two weeks and the name Amon comes in. There’s talk with Lisa and that she’s been having bad dreams that she can’t make sense of. The resident gadgeteers have started to work on a power dampener drug to help with dealing with the telepathy.
Lynn is currently in the ICU after her attempt at her life and is quite pale and probably should have died. Fiona has barely left her side since the incident. There’re several nurses including the charge nurse, Clarissa Covington who has tried to bend some of the rules for the group. Harlowe’s diagnosis is that it’s a combination of psychological along with outside influences. Lisa, goes to sleep in a chair in her room, leaning back and passing out. The lights start to flicker and then they just go off.
So Many Teeth

Mount Sinai Hospital
Wednesday October 26th, 2005, 1200 hours
1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029
They hear a weird, high-pitched noise, that Fiona, Harvey, and JJ identify as air rushing out of a container while there’s a simultaneous pressure on their skin and they can smell ozone like an electrical charge is running through them. With Harlowe, Lisa, Fiona, and Lynn in one room with Nurse Covington, the rest move from the waiting room slowly towards the hallways with the lights flickering wildly. Lisa startles awake with a gasp, blood from her nose and whispering “He comes.”. Nurse Covington is looking around as her mouth goes slack and a voice comes out without her mouth moving, a voice that is not hers claims that Lynn is hers. Fiona steps to the end of Lynn’s bed and readies to defend Lynn, saying that it can’t have her. It asks what will stop it, Fiona steps forwards and claims that she will as she moves to drain water from the nurse, causing her to collapse right on the ground.
Outside the room, they can see the lights flicker even moreso as rifts start to open up. The group can see several rifts open up and humanoid creatures come out, their faces only mouthfuls of teeth. Harlowe steps forwards, encasing Lynn in a force field. Benjamin can hear the commotion a bit as Harvey and JJ see the toothy monsters and heads past JJ. Fiona sidesteps and readies a water blast to hit anyone that enters the room. Harvey moves into the hallway through the double doors, coming next to Benjamin. JJ moves forwards and activates a force shield. Flit teleports into Lynn’s hospital room. Tabitha runs out towards the monsters while Lisa is fighting a mental battle and Ray follows Tabitha. Carol is unsure of what to do as she stays in the waiting room while Warren runs out. The monsters start running towards the party, attacking Harvey with its face which he manages to judo parry as more monsters run towards the bystanders.
Harlowe moves forwards and blasts the door off of its hinges and out of the room where it bounces off of the nurse, causing her to fall over. Benjamin rips bits of concrete and others out of his surroundings and conjures a sandstorm in the middle of the ICU, slashing the bejeebus out of several of the toothy mooks. Fiona steps forwards and preps for the nearest monster to come close to blast them with water. Harvey performs a judo throw on the monster to make it land on the next closest, knocking both down. JJ fires his stun gauntlet at the two mooks, hitting multiple times and stunning the two. Flit teleports again outside of the room, grabs Carol, and teleports back. Tabitha attempts to spin kick a monster’s head while Ray pulls out a gadget. The change in location doesn’t help Carol at all. The mooks flee the sandstorm area and towards the group and the rooms, doing minimal damages while one gets within Fiona’s range and gets knocked back across a desk. One of the bystanders gets attacked and chewed upon. Warren rips a fire extinguisher off the wall as the nurse crawls out from under the door.
Harlowe, with the door open, creates two force fields dedicated to keep the monsters out, and then a permeable one that rips the toothy monsters apart, they fall apart in oily vicissitude. Benjamin throws one of the stone missiles at one of the monsters, tearing one of their arms off that then grows legs and starts to move. Harvey grapples onto one of the monsters around its torso while JJ fires at another monster, dealing negligible damage but stuns it. Flit goes out and rescues one of the bystanders, getting her into the room while Tabitha does a spin kick on the armless monster, killing it. Carol comes out of her fugue as another monster bites into the nurse, chomping down quite solidly and knocking the nurse down and out as other monsters try to break through Harlowe’s force field. Warren beats upon a mook with the fire extinguisher, bashing it to death.
Harlowe, trusting his companions and seeing that Fiona is bringing forwards water to move upon, leaps over Fiona’s shoulder, through the door, past his force fields and over a computer desk to slash at the one that Fiona knocked back with incredibly thin force fields, tearing through his opponent’s neck and skull. Benjamin causes the concrete of the building to soften so the monsters sink into it and being bound in place. Fiona’s wave hits Nurse Covington with a wave pushing her backwards and slamming her against the corner as she roars out into the main room. Harvey judo tosses the monster into the pile of monsters behind him. JJ moves to grab a fireaxe from a wall. Flit moves out, grabs the remaining bystander and brings them back. Ray puts together a device, severely damaging the pile of monsters that has grown as two of them break through their mental stun. Warren swings the fire extinguisher at the top of the pile, killing it swiftly.
Harlowe, seeing the same rainbow-oily substance that the monsters have folded into is a very, very familiar colour, he drops to take a look at it. It’s likely the very same energy that forms his force fields, but his lack of science background makes it difficult to make an accurate hypothesis. Benjamin attempts to suplex a monster only to fail. Fiona circles the two bound in concrete, ripping one from their bound legs and only barely damaging the other. Harvey attempts to collect a sample of the beings before they fade away into oil while JJ strikes at them with a fireaxe, killing one of them. Flit isn’t sure what to do, and Tabitha moves to Lynn’s side. Burn moves out and sets fire to one of the remaining monsters, causing it to start screaming and one of the bound mooks leaves its legs behind to crawl from the concrete binding.
Harlowe immediately looks around and locates the moving arm and traps it in a force field as Fiona knocks the escaping monster back into the quicksand and looks towards the doors into the rest of the hospital, looking for anyone that might have summoned the monsters from the rift. Harvey starts running towards the trapped monsters as JJ jumps over the burning sludge and in line with the monsters as the monsters attempt to struggle against their bindings. Warren chucks the fire extinguisher at the last monster.
With combat basically over, Harlowe grabs the arm with his flyrokinesis and draws it downwards where they scramble to find a container that they then shove into a container quickly and duct tape it. They get into the room and quickly check over the nurses as they look for something to summon more medical professionals. Lynn wakes up and starts crying and shaking saying that “he won’t leave me alone” which Fiona comforts her.
Aftermath
As the medical practitioners flood in, so does a petite woman with strangely coloured, indigo purple eyes who whispers into their ears and they just start moving away doing something else. She’s not wearing any kind of hospital badge but does have surprisingly sensible shoes with a fashionable outfit and a tailored peacoat.
She speaks with them, in a very musical and rich voice that she was sent by Ulrich. Fiona asks for her name, and gets back Gabriella Legend and that she’s here to help Lynn but may have arrived too late. They suggest trying to help her regardless and she motions for them to move away. She places her hands on Lynn’s head and speaks in a low tone in a language they don’t know. She says that there’s a being that has formed a link with Lynn and she could repair the barriers in her mind but would need a volunteer to help, to which Fiona moves forwards immediately.
Fiona feels great warmth surrounding here as they get into the mindscape. Comforting Lynn, that they’re all there for her until she finally goes to sleep. Gabriella says that the entity’s name is Amon. That it’s been there for years and that it’s an entity looking for a way into their world, using her powers to cast out its thoughts over and over again. Gabriella says that she can’t really answers too many questions, most likely it was strong enough to create a weakened kyberic flow and create a tap to the outside. Fiona starts asking for her opinion and how to do things, but says that they need someone to get them into the dimension that the thing is in, or something that could get them into the dimension that need. Pentagrams and the like don’t work unless there’s great belief. Gabriella’s phone goes off and she starts speaking in a language they can’t define, though some are able to identify it as Navajo, with Harlowe picking out a few words.
She apologizes and says that he needs to leave as there’s been an incident. She says to Harlowe they need to get into her dreamscape, that’s the closest they can get to the entity and punch it out. She gives them a business card and writes something on the back of it, saying that the man should be able to help them. Saying she must go, there’s the sound of electricity arcing like off of a zeusophone and disappears. They look at the business card, one side has a funny looking symbol with a globe and the words of AEGIS with her contact information. On the back is the name of Glyden Hardinson and a local address. The nurses don’t seem to remember being in any kind of combat, and there’s no record or trace of what happened after all they’ve done. Now they just have to figure out where to go from there.
After Action Report (GM)
This was a good session. One of the first where the PCs get to stretch their powers and use them in a combat that counts. That said, they worked together very well and played things tactically. It was very enjoyable for me as a GM when they started just doing all the right things and doing them in a way that was in-game, sane, and entirely un-PC like.
Being able to introduce another existing character from the setting (Gabriella) to the group was great. Introducing some of the world lore was pretty fun too as this is the second time only a Kyberic Entity was used in AEON. Overall. Good session.
