Previously . . .

A day has passed and they notice that something feels wrong. They can collectively hear someone in their head that they’d all be better off without them, the mental voice sounding like Lynn.

The Ghost of Me

Benjamin, Fiona, Harlowe, Harvey, and JJ
Meraki Institute for the Gifted
Monday October 24th, 2005, 2200 hours
605 E 9th St, New York, NY 10009

They keep hearing Lynn’s depressed thoughts and try to determine where Lynn is at. Fiona moves to check the rooftop, J.J. moves to check the basement, Devin isn’t too sure where to start so he heads out into the hallway and tries calling Lynn before moving to find her. Harvey uses his abilities to try to figure out if there’s any clues left towards her location, knowing that she slipped out a few hours ago with no information where she went, bits of fingernail polish chipping off on the door. Harlowe, meanwhile, goes straight to Warren, telling him to check the security logs and system as Warren starts panicking and stutters out that she’s in the basement before his chair breaks below him.

In the basement, they find Lynn in a sleep deprivation tank in the water with her wrists slashed, lengthwise. They panic and haul her out and move to treat her wounds via tourniquet. Fiona, finding no one on the roof, heads back to the dorm room. Harvey, meanwhile, has headed towards the basement. Harlowe moves for Steve, knocking on his door to find him half-dressed and panicked saying that he’s had a bad dream about Lynn. Harlowe says they all did and they have to head to the basement immediately.

Fiona, pokes around the now-empty dorm room and heads towards the basement finding them bringing Lynn upwards. They can hear Steve cursing for the first time as they get her into the infirmary. The nurse, having been woken by Steve, watches with wide eyes as they enter. Lynn is going to need a blood transfusion immediately and they’ve only got a few people there in a small clinic. Fiona isn’t a match, she’s barely even got actual blood, but Harlowe is apparently a good enough match for her, though how she gets past Harlowe’s skin is another question while Tabitha is glowing. An ambulance was called while the nurse has closed off her cuts with hemostats and taped them there. Fiona joins her in the ambulance while Steve drives the rest to the hospital.

The Ghost of You

Benjamin, Fiona, Harlowe, Harvey, and JJ
Mount Sinai Hospital
Tuesday October 25th, 2005, 0200 hours
1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029

The surgery isn’t likely to go well, but after an hour they’re told that the recovery was successful and very lucky. She’s in recovery before being moved to ICU and then moved to a psychiatric ward for at least 72 hours unless she’s seen earlier by a licensed psychiatrist. Steve pulls out his license from his wallet and explains that he is a licensed one. The team tries to determine how they might be able to keep her out of the psych ward to keep her mental health from getting worse and considering whether or not Ulrich might have any ideas from his past.

Aftermath

When they get back to school, Fiona checks for mail and her computers to check for anything that might have set her off and then checking her diary. About two weeks back, her handwriting changes to something sloped and fast.

Harvey wants to analyze her diary even closer with his powers while the rest, being a bunch of nerd gadgeteers, want to create an anti-telepathy shield or drug to help stabilize her somewhat and getting them to her with Steve’s help. Harlowe is thinking about creating a psychological profile on her and speaking with Lisa to see if she’s had any weird dreams.

After Action Report (GM)

This was a really heavy thing to reveal in a lite session. I honestly would have preferred to draw it out more, but that didn’t happen. We barely got into it and there’s not much to report.

Other Notes

I (in what is becoming a trend) had to stop the game about 90 minutes in due to a family emergency.
