Previously . . .

The team took some time to check out hospital that’s across the street from Fort Greene Park. They find that there were some heroes that managed to lock down the hospital and keep the worst of everything from getting in. With that done, they contact Ray letting him know they’ve closed the portal and they’ve still got 50lbs of C4. They’re instructed to return to base and keep an ear out for further instructions. Harlowe asks if there’s any more portals out there where Ray says he’s trying to figure out a device that’ll let them locate the portals but he’s running into some issues. A small balled up paper falls out of the magical stone having the plans.

Back at Harlowe’s block, the barrier nullifying the darkness is still intact and people have begun using it as a safe zone with Tabitha already assigning people rooms to stay in for the duration. As Harlowe stows the C4 back away safely, Harvey takes a moment to look over the plans and figure out what is being missed, in this case it’s orichalcum where they’ve got a bit of processed orichalcum from decades ago that Harvey can use. They send some through back the magical stone for Ray to use as well. Harvey starts to build his copy of the device, but needs some old school TVs with transmitters still inside. Harlowe manages to get the TVs that Harvey needs to word with, getting a transmitter up and running on top of Harlowe’s home.

Ray manages to get a call through to Harvey, congratulating him on getting it running and explaining that they got the idea from another MAPs team and improved upon it partially. He gets Harvey to work on getting two more worked up and getting them set up, one at MAPs HQ and another at a different undisclosed location. While Harvey works on things, Harlowe sits down and goes over recent business problems with Wayfinder Solutions and Fiona and Flit play with the children that have been straggling in.

Aftermath

They get over to the HQ with Flit’s aid and gets the stuff installed, finding that the HQ has also developed some flashlights that work on a certain frequency cutting through the darkness based on a metahuman’s powers. They get a task to make something to help combat fatigue, returning back to Harlowe’s home. Harvey makes some modern Pervitin with low side effects if they don’t exceed a week of usage. Meanwhile, Fiona decides to check out the epicenter of the darkness, finding nothing there, just darkness with nothing to really detect, even by the light of the flashlight so she sets out to determine the dimensions of the area of darkness. Flit keeps playing with the children, trying to teach them music.

After Action Report (GM)

Really short session. Still recovering from illness of the previous week, but I wanted to get a session in the books so we didn’t lose momentum.
