Previously . . .
It’s currently very early in the morning, about 4am, where folks are resting up, Fiona slips out of the dome of darkness and watches the news, getting information on what’s going on out there. The government is mobilizing the Army and National Guard as well as many more heroes to try to combat the problem with the breakout at Riker’s Island. Wearing her costume, she speaks with police outside the dome of darkness to get messages through with a bit of convincing, taking around an hour doing that. Mount Sinai has become a hot spot for local civil government due to Glowworm’s presence driving away the darkness while the flashlights that they’ve been manufacturing have been spread around.
Harvey has been able to create a couple doses of the drug, good for a week’s worth of staying awake. It’s passed through the stone over to Ray for his distribution and use. Flit is getting some rest and relaxation while the kids are asleep. Harlowe, meanwhile, has been compiling data and determining that they haven’t figured out a whole heck of a lot either as it seems like they’re having some kind of interference keeping them from finding more open portals for remnants. Ray is working on a handheld device for hopefully greater accuracy when Harrison drags Harlowe to the kitchen to get some water before he goes back to analyzing the data that they’ve got trickling in.

They’ve got fractalization happening with the data, getting information in from various places he’s pretty sure that he’s able to determine where a new portal would come up as they appear to be man-made creations. His brain says that it’s probably a device of some kind that’s gone beyond their control and is now working by itself with new portals emerging every 7 to 77 minutes. Flit, having woken up, around 7am stares at the map that Harlowe has set up on the wall of his office and barely recognizes some of the math.
While Fiona wanders around, delivering messages, she encounters some of the portals that have been opening, seeing remnants sticking close and not wandering off. Some of the holes close back up while others stay open, but none of them have gotten as large as the one at Fort Greene. She stops back at Harlowe’s home to let them know what’s going on out there. Harvey, meanwhile, has been doing his job and speaking with Gigajewel and getting some sleep.
Harlowe finally gets a head on things, contacting Ray and hearing that he needs someone to stop by some of the dimensional tears with the device to get it calibrated properly, he’s got two of them that they can drag around. The HQ also has Fiona travelling around dropping off transmitters everywhere to help with communication when she gets hungry and finds a food truck selling sandwiches known as Earl’s Sandwiches where there’s people eating and hanging out and one guy armed with a bat that looks like it was cobbled together with circuitry and sheathed with a force field. She ends up getting a chicken parm sandwich to go.
When Harvey wakes up, Gigajewel is laying right there watching him, saying that she’s bored and was watching him sleep. Apparently since her powers awoke, she no longer needed to sleep. Only a bit creeped out, he goes inside to find Harlowe, Harrison, and Flit staring at a bunch of math and maps. Harlowe has gotten on his laptop, started to map out the city, the portals, and then assigned them to radiate lines at 6 degree intervals, looking for connections and finding epicenters and commonalities, where all the portals that have closed naturally are just off of the 6 degree angle marks.
Aftermath
He sends Ray the information and is told to give him an hour where he can analyze the data from the transmitters that Fiona has dropped around and he’ll get a location for them to strike to take down the device. Ray is pretty sure they set it running and then placed it into a dimensional hole somewhere making it hard to find now. With that settled, Harlowe sits back and looks into the situation with one of Wayfinder Solutions clients.
After Action Report (GM)
Another short session due to a combination of excitement and low glucose making it worse. Still, we’ve gotten the players established and next session should have some more excitement.
