The group has found an area for the Puerto de Bahlia Blanca where there’s some rather obvious shady things happening. Apex gets a count of the mooks that are wandering around along with four more that looks rather more on alert than the rest with one, Pulsifer, looking rather sickly like he has cancer. There’s another, Blockbuster, is pumping iron in the open. Angel Cakes looks like an old-timey Stepford Wife and rather out of place in the setting. Finally, Cascade just looks damp. The last they saw of the nurse, she was on the boat but has disappeared below decks. It seems that they aren’t aware of the team’s presence as Boombox isolates their voices from their surroundings so they can talk without alerting them.

A Port By Any Other Name

They’re not sure what they need to do or why, but they figure the best plan would be to punch first and ask question later. As they move in, Electro charges up using the energy from his suit as Apex suggests him hitting Cascade as they seem to be water related, while Apex faces Blockbuster since she can move faster and dodge more easily. Nero should probably go against Pulsifer and then leave Angel Cake to Boombox. Hux, meanwhile, is hiding behind a building and eying the crane in the yard to cause a distraction. Boombox lands on top of the building containing Angel Cakes and Pulsifer, hanging around to listen in while everyone else moves into place. He can hear and memorize Angel Cakes’ voice while Nero disguises himself as the weakest mook they remember seeing.

As Apex aims her gun from her hiding spot, Hux tosses out a signal jammer grenade to temporarily knock out the comms of the port while Electro lightning steps behind Cascade and attempts to use the Vulcan nerve pinch on her who dodges away and turns into water, it doesn’t look like the stun worked at all. Boombox, aware of this, flies upwards to see the battlefield and fires a concussive blast at the puddle formerly known as Cascade on the ground and vibrates the water before landing back on the roof. Nero opens the door, steps in, and asks if anyone ordered a Nero to get the attention of the people inside.

Apex aims at Blockbuster’s right arm and fires, not even remotely looking phased before looking very confused for a moment and dropping the barbell to his sides. In the comms, they can hear Hux say that they’re going to have to change targets while Apex swaps to the tranquilizer gun. Nero steps between Angel Cakes and Pulsifer and drops into a defensive boxing stance, saying that normally he wouldn’t want to fight them but he doesn’t have any money to bribe them at the moment. Cascade draws in water becoming gigantic, bringing a fist down onto Electro who dodges backwards. Angel Cakes points a finger at Nero and giggles where Nero turns into her, though only as an imitation, he still has his own brain though, she still smooths down her apron and mentions something about that being better. With Hux up, he pulls from his backpack to locate some ingredients to finish his freeze grenade. Electro, seeing a giant hunk of water before him, decides to cut loose against her with a giant lightning bolt that does absolutely nothing to her. Blockbuster throws his dumbells at Apex, striking her square in the chest. Boombox projects his voice, mimicking the voice of their boss, telling them to hold their fire as they need them alive confusing them for a second before flying towards a different room. Pulsifer starts coughing up from phlegm, asking if he should get rid of Angel Cake’s Nero duplicate.

Apex rolls off the truck and towards the building where the Angel Cakes at standing, looking between them, knows that one of them is probably Nero and then shoots Pulsifer with a tranq dart who is now very angry looking and things around him start decaying, she also fires at a mook who manages to power his way past the tranquilizer. Nero, exclaiming his happiness for cake, moves towards Angel Cake and makes a gesture towards Apex to show who is who. Cascade tries to strike Electro again but misses. Angel Cakes turns to Apex and giggles at her, but barely manages to resist being turned into a copy of Angel Cakes, but is left with a bunch of memories that isn’t hers. Hux throws his freeze grenade into Cascade, once inside it starts to expand and create ice until it seems like they can see the original Cascade’s human form inside the giant ice sculpture. Electro, now conflicted a bit, decides against smashing the ice sculpture and instead moves towards Blockbuster instead and taps on his shoulder, telling him to fight someone as strong as Blockbuster is. Blockbuster turns around and punches Electro in the face, shrugging it off for Electro to ask if that’s the worst that he can do. Boombox flies to the ground and is determined to blast through the wall and hit both Pulsifer and Angel Cakes at the same time, knocking both of them out with a single blast.

Despite the mook’s continued confusion, Apex has to resist trying to making a souffle and instead runs out of the building towards the ship and starts firing her tranquilizer darts at the mooks around her, knocking out two of them. Nero, looking around to see Angel Cakes and Pulsifer is down, runs past the standing mook and out into the open to look around. Hux quick draws his staff and swings at a mook’s head to knock him out, dropping him quickly. Electro trades blows with Blockbuster, damaging each other and parrying blows, actually causing Blockbuster to start bleeding from his hand. Boombox starts playing some rather inspirational soundtracks before charging up for a rather powerful blast.

Aftermath

Apex, rather than wasting darts, starts to move to push the mooks into the water, grabbing one first and then swinging the mook into the other mook but missing and the mook flies from her hand and bonks straight into the boat, squeaks down the side, and drops into the water. She then moves forwards and shoves the missed mook into the water only for him to dodge out of the way. Nero, still in his Angel Cakes look, moves up behind Blockbuster, telling him to get out of the way and that he’ll handle Electro, not that he manages to convince Blockbuster at all. Hux runs forwards towards another mook, holding down the button that charges up his armor divisor. A single supercharged punch from Electro strikes Blockbuster, knocking him out with a blow like heavy artillery. The mooks, confused and frightened, abandon their posts as Electro explains that’s why he doesn’t like to use his full strength against people.

After Action Report (GM)

I wish I had had more time for this one but it was a make-up game from the previous Tuesday and done on a Thursday so I could get everyone there for a few hours, but not much else. It was a good game though and folks had lots of fun and that’s all that mattered.
