Somewhere in Idaho

Menzi sneaking up behind one and smashing it in the head and moving in with Levi. The zombie behind the counter lifts its hands and starts trying to move towards the group, unfortunately the counter blocks its path and it looks like an NPC from a Bethesda game. Keeping an ear out, Menzi hears some more zombies come towards him, grabbing armfuls of junk food the sonokinetic rushes back towards the RV only to see a zombie cop heading towards him.

For a second, he thinks that he sees a police officer yelling at him to freeze before it changes back to a zombie heading towards him again. Menzi takes a swing with the IV pole and smashes him in the forearm. Duke rushes in to help, readying his trusty two-by-four and somehow manages to completely smash in the zombie’s head, and Menzi taking his sidearm and keys to break into the cop car and scrounges everything that he could from the car. Levi being told to hack into the cop’s laptop while Menzi drives around to find a place to get clothing, unfortunately the laptop is broken and Levi can’t do anything with it.

At that moment the radio in the RV cuts in playing California Dreaming, and Murph is convinced that someone is trying to communicate with him, possibly Jeanne. Holding a conversation with the radio that giving their description of escaped hospital patients that went on a rampage and stole an elderly couple’s RV. Murph is convinced that either the radio is lying or the elderly couple removed all their underwear since he couldn’t find any in any of the drawers.

From the rear, Duke could hear sirens from behind them, police cruisers that are specced out in Mad max style with what happens to be lizard people behind the wheels. Menzi decides to stop the car and surrender, only to be shot in a panic with a shotgun, dropping him immediately. A short furious conversation in the RV leads Duke to step out of the RV and confront the lizard people that morph into police officers for a moment. Confused and dazed, no one is quite sure what to do except for Murph who decides to heroically sacrifice himself by stripping off his hospital gown, stepping out of the RV and announcing to the lizard people: “Take me to your leader, I am young and virile!” Unfortunately at this moment, things start to change and Murph is now just cold and naked in front of a large amount of police officers and he asks them the only thing he can think of. “Are you officers a fan of Hunter S. Thompson?”

The world melts.

It Was All a Dream

Las Vegas, NV 89130

The group wakes up on the side of the Vegas highway, Menzi being slapped awake and still bleeding. Apparently, like Canada, if you’re shot in a dream then you’re shot in real life. Murph is suffering from a rather expansive and expressive nosebleed and the SUV is shot all to hell but the tires are easily switched out from the Agency’s vehicles, disabling theirs. Back on the road, Jeanne patches up Menzi perfectly as they discuss where to head from here. Murph insists on Area 51 but eventually capitulates and agrees with the rest that the best way to escape is to get to somewhere with a lot of minds or find someone that deals with psychotronics, but that man lives in Texas.

Aftermath

For now they head towards the Lone Star state as they try to take care of Virginia. A quick stop by a chop shop street doc tells the group that she’s in a coma and needs more care than what he can provide them. The group decides to test out their new IDs and take her to a real hospital as soon as they’re able to.

After Action Report (GM)

Ughhh.I fixed the problem I caused the previous, but it was a little slap-dash. I simply tried to do to much and that’s something all GMs should beware of. I’m sticking to what I wanted to originally run – GURPS Action with psionics. Espionage? Yes. A-Team style action? Yes. I just need to finish setting the PCs up so that we can actually get to that part. I’m not sure if I want to do a mission of the week – that’s not entirely my jam, but it’ll work to start with so that I (as the GM) can find our collective footing an go from there.

Footnotes

None.

Soundtrack

California Dreaming” by The Mamas and the Papas (Opening Song)
I Think I’m Paranoid” by Garbage
On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson (Closing Song)
