Previously . . .

There’s some discussion about what to do with Gigajewel, it’s decided that with the current situation it’s probably better to allow her to stick with them rather than trying to get her back to Riker’s Island. There’s some discussion about where to go first, with Fiona and Flit moving first after alerting Harlowe via text message. Flit teleports Harlowe’s location while the rest move towards Meraki Academy for Institutional Schools.

Flit knocks on the door and Harlow Jr. answers, telling Flit that if she’s a supervillain, to be warned that they’ve all got powers. Flit assures her that she isn’t a supervillain and asks for her parents, with Harlow Jr. alerting her mother who eventually comes to the door and invites her inside. Flit explains that she just sent a text to Harlowe that probably came through. Flit explains to Tabbs that Gigajewel has shown up at Harvey’s place causing her to curse in Spanish before offering Flit something to drink as Flit continues to explain about what’s happening with Meraki and gets the kids to introduce them to Flit and then directs her to Harlowe’s study. Tabitha then sends a text message to Harvey to not bother coming in for work, they’re shutting things down.

Harlowe has just gotten off the phone from High Command, who is telling Harlowe to stand by while they figure out what’s going on with the situation. Ulrich, having stayed over, isn’t too happy with the situation. They hear the knocking on the door and invite Flit in where she goes over things again. Harlowe gets Harrison to batten down the hatches and listen to the airwaves while Ulrich goes to get his family together.

Bots, Bots. Who’s Got the Bots?

Fiona, Flit, Harlowe, and Harvey
Meraki Institute for the Gifted
Thursday, May 7th, 2020, 1100 hours (EST)
605 E 9th St, New York, NY 10009

Over at Meraki School for Academy Institutes, it feels like things are off-kilter, like it’s numb there. She strides up, while still in uniform, and towards the security guards, asking if everything is alright. They says that things are fine, so far and they’re arranging for children to go home. They say they assume Fiona is with the MAPs program where she tries to bluff her way through that but not too confidently much to the guard’s suspicion, especially with Harvey in a tie-dyed labcoat and Gigajewel in an orange jumpsuit and cuffs standing behind her. Especially when she claims that she is a killer much to the guard’s bemusement.

Fiona tries to convince them that Gigajewel has got information regarding a threat towards the Meraki Institute and shows them the burner phone with the recording on it. The guard watches it with his hand still on his gun as Harvey tells them if they don’t want them there, they’d leave. Upon entering, the guard speaks something in Latin where several spherical robots shimmer into view, using photoreflective technology. They don’t immediately appear armed, but they feel like they’re armed.

Aftermath

Flit and Harlowe, meanwhile, are in the middle of a storage closet. Her intended target, the principal’s office, was moved to the second floor and she’s standing there with a foot in a mop bucket trying to make excuses. Shaking his head, Harlowe just leaves the closet with Flit still making excuses only to encounter a spherical robot that’s patrolling and demands compliance with laying down and removing weapons. Harlowe immediately complies as it alerts on him being a parent and scans his face, giving him a greenlight.
