Boil and Bubble: Thaumaturgy

Thaumaturgic magic has a very authentic feel to it. It’s mysterious, no one is exactly sure how it works (but it does), and sorting out what is required versus what is tradition takes magical geniuses entire lifetimes. What is known is that it exacts a heavy toll on the caster and occasionally on the subjects. Moreover, thaumaturges (spellcasters) rarely known more than a dozen
spells owing to the difficulty and strain of casting.

The following rules require GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic and the rules for effect-shaping ritual path magic from Pyramid #3/66: The Laws of Magic. The system has been heavily modified here to create the necessary feel that thaumaturgy has. . .
