Campaign Page – Aersalus

The Aersalus campaign ran from April 2023 to February 2025, with fifteen players running twenty characters spread across four teams.

B-Team

Cast

  • Listens-to-Ocean (Played by Rory F.): Accurate and pithy description and personality. Capabilities: Beadteller, diplomat, Ministry-trained healer, scholar, shenin, and songshaper (Light, Spirit, Water, Wind, and Wood). Occupation: Imperial arbiter turned Abolethian Peerage magistrate. Race: Haulflin (Halfling). Tagline: “The Wind, Spirits, Ocean, and Stars are all talking to you. Are you wise enough to listen?”
  • Rhum Kaldalsson (Played by Curtis Johnston): A quiet but observant minotaur of few words with the soul of an artist. Capabilities: Master of axes. Berserker. Amazing artistic skills. Occupation: Seafaring warrior turned artist-explorer turned Abolethian Peerage constable. Race: Tauron. Tagline: “Painting someone as a hero or a villain can be more effective than combat…”
  • Fergal Alfhard “Trapper” Kallahan af av Duxguard (Played by Christopher D.):  Hunter turned thief-taker. Capabilities: Deadshot with a crossbow. Master of knifework. One of the only Armsmaster-trained gremians in existence. Occupation: Armsmaster-trained Thief-Taker turned Abolethian Peerage constable. Race:  Arboreal Gremian (Bearcat). Tagline: “Out in the wilderness, law is what you bring with you.”
  • Unit 7 (Played by Brice M.): One of the first cogs ever made. Unit 7 is long outdated in almost every way, but has been restored by Duke ru Tellengeri as a bodyguard for Listens-to-Ocean. . . but is also very odd.  Capabilities: Soldier and warrior . Occupation: Soldier turned Abolethian Peerage constable. Race: Cog (combat operation golem). Tagline: “This unit has been instructed to . . .”

Cast

  • Arsham uru Kajj damu Arasti (Played by Chris A.): Arsham experienced a traumatic event that led him to bury his sorrows in dangerous work, but he can be friendly once you get to know him.  Capabilities: Priest, assassin, parkour expert and camel racer. Occupation: Merchant’s bodyguard by day; assassin and priest for a death god by night. Race: Anfirran (Tay-Vani). Tagline: “Yes, I am an assassin; no, I won’t kill you; you are still alive.”

Dungeon Fantasy Aersalus

The two dungeon fantasy games were an earlier run of the setting with the Dungeon Fantasy engine, and do not share a history with the later teams.

Dungeon Fantasy B-Team

Cast

  • Fyadhiel, Elven Scout (played by Douglas Cole): An elvish warmaster sent on a quest to be more humane. It’s not working. Tagline: “Just Damn Better than you.”
  • Gaffer, Gremian Artificer (played by Christopher D.): Boom Squirrel. Tagline: “Stop damaging your gear! I’m the one that has to repair it.”
  • Galen Fallowhide, Halfling Scholar (Physick)/Cleric of Healing (player by Christian Gelacio): He’s a doctor (but not a cannibal) that can heal with steel. He’s small, but deadly and a bit crazy. Tagline: “How many times have I healed you? Let me count the holes.”
  • Ryeleah Lopek, Human Wizard (played by Merlin A.)
  • Waraxe Mandrake, Dwarven Knight (played by Rob K.): A solid dwarf with miscellaneous scars and a long red beard. Usually seen in well-maintained (ahem) dwarven armor, and with Lydia, a rather large dwarven waraxe. Tagline: “Pass the beer and look out for the axe.”
