Campaign Page – The Chronicles of Ceteri
The everyday plodding along of life hides something fantastic and terrifying. Beyond the veneer of mundane existence lies the world of the ceteri. A world full of wonder. A world full of fear. A world of impossible possibilities. This is the world that the Conclave has been hiding for millennia. The world that any logical, sane person would say is the result of too many bad movies, too many drugs, or too much drink. Or maybe they’ve just gone mad. This is the world of vampires and werewolves, of angels and demons, where Heaven and Hell are around every corner. Where ancient inhuman beings vie for power. Where sorcerers use magic to change the world around them. Where psychics send their souls outward to play in the aether. Where miracles happen to the devout.
The Conclave protects and polices this world, but they can’t be everywhere at once. Humanity has spread out too far and too fast and with them the various supernatural beings that follow them around for food, reproduction, or play. Thousands of years ago a powerful sorcerer named Kashaph separated the world of man and the world of monsters and set about his followers to watching over the wall he’d made. This was the beginning of the Conclave. Later, Merlin would be born and he would lead the Conclave into a golden era with his friend Arthur forming the first custos (iconically represented in folklore as the Knights of the Round Table – who would later on become the Templar Knights, then the Venatori, and the modern Freemasons). These custos were warriors of rare ability and wielded powers both mundane and paranormal against the various supernatural forces that preyed on humanity.
For centuries, the various factions schemed against one another and were held in check by the Conclave. Eventually, the Conclave grew bloated with its power and prestige and concerned only with advanced itself and not carrying out its sacred mission of protecting mankind. The Conclave was “destroyed” in the late 16th century and those that remained fled to the New World to escape the madness of the Old World. The new Conclave rose up stronger than before and separated itself from the Houses (as it had been) to be a singular group welcome to all ceteri.
The Chronicles of Ceteri campaign ran from May 2020 to April 2020, with nineteen players running twenty-two characters spread across three teams.

B-Team
Kids growing into heroes, living in the same foster home, and from the same neighbourhood where they survived a terrible event in the past.
Cast
- Amos M. Humiston (Played by Christopher D.): The Linguist and Librarian. He is the brains to the rest of the group’s brawn; but by the same token, he’s slow and cautious compared to the other Orphans, preferring not to charge forwards until he has the answers that he’s looking for. Those same answers that he more than happily provides the rest of the group when they turns to him about the more esoteric aspects that they’re working with and against. Recently Amos has nearly completed his double Masters in Library & Information Science Archives and History and has also managed to get a rather special job lined up. He has also learned from others that he hold the potential to be a Sorcerer which if unlocked would be able to enhance his already considerable talent with ritualistic magic. Tagline: “True alchemists do not change lead into gold; they change the world into words.”
- Devin Broadhurst (played by Rob D.): There was a blurb here the entire time. But it disappears every time you look away from the screen. Tagline: “You saw it, but forgot it.”
- Dillon J. Lynch (Played by Calvin J.): The Tough Guy and a master of knives and fists. He is in search of his brother that he never knew he had. He bears a strong sense of duty and strives to do the right thing. He is broke, new to town, and new to this. Whatever this is… Tagline: “Yeah, I brought a knife to a gun fight.”
- Gabriel MacAlister (played by Douglas Cole): Built like the natural athlete he is, he is tall, strong, and solidly good-looking, but deeply scarred from much combat. He’s missing his lower leg, which he lost fighting zombies. It is capped by a carbon fiber prosthetic that doesn’t seem to interfere much with his activities. A quiet and hard-working man, always ready to lend a hand with any work, which he will do without complaint or obligating the other person to respond. He is an expert martial arts teacher, and has been following in the footsteps of a carpenter for some time now. Emphatically not a pushover or weak personality, but also not one to purposefully show off. Has been in many horrible places and seen many horrible things; he’s a bit of a compulsive planner as a result, as well as always feeling that most folks don’t really know how lucky they are. He was cursed to carry a magical sword for a while, and gave into its Wrath before it was parted from him magically. He’s since given it up, in exchange for unknown burdens. Tagline: “To serve others is the highest calling; to protect the meek the noblest endeavor, and our works are judged by the effort that went into them”
- Henry H. Norris (played by Rory F.): The Detective and Shooter. He is a classic overachiever, always trying to make up for past failures and even limited successes by working harder and smarter. Life caught him unprepared once, and he does not want that to ever happen again. That attitude and certain knacks have earned him a good income and a respectable place in Boston society. Henry is new to the group, having met under less than auspicious circumstances and is the religious member of the group. Devoted follower of Horus before really understanding what that even means but it just felt right. Tagline: “If he can see it he can shoot it, and he sees really good!”
- Kamali Blackshear (played by Merlin A.): Kamali is a young man in his late teens. He is healthy and is of mixed ethnicity of Caucasian South African and native South African. He is a determined youth who believes in a justice of his own, likening himself to the knight of the round table whom he has read deeply into. Just as they stood against the darkness of their age so too does Kamali seek to do the same. For his sister, for his friends, and for the world. Tagline: “A knight without a sword carrying a faith nobody believes.”
- Lorenzo De Modouco (played by Christian Gelacio): A man with movie star looks and a voice that belongs on the radio. Slowly coming to grips with the fact that he isn’t exactly human, but a “Lupus Dei” – “Wolf of God” – otherwise known as a Benandanti. He’s still cheery and always trying to make others happy, but has become a shrewd student of human behavior, which he uses for the benefit of the rest of his team. Lorenzo’s recently joined the Boston Fire Department as a volunteer as a means to get access to places he normally shouldn’t be able to go as well as medical gear and information that might not be available to the public. He’s become a master of spear fighting and like the rest of his brothers is a highly capable combatant. Tagline: “You can take me to the gates of Hell, but I won’t back down and I won’t be turned around.”
- Markus Walker (played by Christopher D.): Only recently awakened to the world of Ceteri, Markus is a couple things. A survivor of Lorna Rd, an officer of the law, a physical mage. It’s hard to tell where each one leaves off and where the other comes into play. He tries his best to follow the law, but it’s hard when there’s no Massachusetts State laws on monster hunting. Tagline: “Honesta quam magna.”

C-Team
A group of sorcerers ready to go though their trials.
Cast
- Agrivain Tashaslan (Played by Travis Ellis): Inhumanely attractive and a genius spellcaster, Aggravaine is trying to make a name for himself in the supernatural world of Ceteri.
- Charles Malone (played by Will M.): Charles is a detective, mechanical tinkerer, and powerful sorcerer who always tries to do the right thing. He has seen things that would drive normal people to insanity so many times that nothing really phases him any more. He has a strong moral compass and tries to right wrongs wherever he finds them, especially when a paycheck is involved because, well, everyone has to eat. May or may not have been drawn to this work by a supernatural entity. Tagline: “Chosen? Sure, I could be chosen.”
- David A. Marshall (played by Scott R.): David is a photographer and teacher who has been chosen by God to fight the good fight against the supernatural forces of darkness. Unlike the popular perception of a saint, he is neither preachy nor dull – instead, he is patient, faithful, and genuinely interested in those around him, and is especially protective of children. He rarely chooses his adventures, but trusts that every step he takes will bring him closer to where he needs to be, and that the blessings he has been given will see him through. Tagline: “Saying a prayer is good. Being a prayer is better.”
- Landon Winchester (Played by Alex Raymond)
- Leo Brienza (Played by Emily Smirle): A werewolf private investigator. Leo has a fondness for Twinkies and is a disappointment to his family.
- Marvin “Marv” MacGann (played by Dorien): An ancient sorcerer of no small skill. Often drunk. Acts like everyone’s favorite uncle. Talks to me. Is basically your drunkle. Tagline: “Let me tell you about the time I . . . “
- Mike Bastian (Played by Andre Sobral)
- Raleigh Madison (Played by Kevin Smyth)
- Ranulf Graeme (played by Christopher D.): Ranulf is a man that introduces himself with a heavy sigh, not only because his name would bewilder the most experienced barista, but also because his life has recently gone down the toilet. Put in administrative leave for something that wasn’t his fault, he’s now forced to join up with some of the folks that actually caused his misery until they make his life better. He’s not going to rely on them alone though, as a tychomancer, a tellurgist, and he simply is one of the best cartographers and survivalists on the Autumn Road. Tagline: “No amount of careful planning can beat pure luck.”
- Yanay Servantes (Played by Annia Zzacchi)
